How Dynamic Watermarks Work
Traditional watermarks are static text burned into PDFs. PdfWarden watermarks are dynamic and personalized. Each viewer sees their own email, IP address, timestamp, or custom text overlaid on every page.

Why Watermarks Deter Leaks
When someone knows their identity is stamped on every page, they think twice before sharing screenshots or forwarding documents. Watermarks create accountability and traceability.
Forensic Leak Investigation
If a watermarked document surfaces publicly, you can immediately identify the source. The email and IP address are forensic evidence of who accessed the content and when.
Watermark Positioning and Styling
Control opacity, position (header, footer, diagonal), font size, and color. Make watermarks subtle enough to not obstruct content, but visible enough to deter redistribution.
Perfect for Sensitive Content
Pre-Release Materials
Share embargoed press releases, product announcements, or financial results with journalists. Watermarks ensure attribution if content leaks early.
Legal Documents
Distribute contracts, NDAs, or settlement agreements with client-specific watermarks. Trace unauthorized copies back to the source.
Confidential Reports
Consulting firms, auditors, and analysts use watermarks to protect proprietary research and client deliverables from unauthorized distribution.
Combine with Access Controls
Stack watermarks with password protection, email verification, and domain restrictions. Create multiple security layers for maximum protection.
No File Modification
Watermarks are rendered on-the-fly in the viewer. Your original PDF remains untouched. Different viewers see different watermarks on the same document.
